Secretive marsh birds have a diverse array of vocalizations. Surveyors must become familiar with vocalizations given by each focal species in their area, because these birds are almost solely detected by ear. The following is a list of vocalizations given by each species. Calls available for download were recorded by the University of Arizona and are not the calls used for the standardized call broadcast.
