Tuesday Morning Notes

April 14, 2009

BACK IN THE OFFICE:

With the okay of my doctor and taking the proper precautions, I have been able to return to my office after my recent retinal eye surgery. However, I will not be able to fly for several months nor drive for the next few weeks. I appreciate all the cards and emails of support. It is great to be a part of such a supportive organization.

FOCUS ON FACULTY:

Congratulations to Steve Campbell, Area Associate Agent, Natural Resources/Forestry in Navajo County for his recent appointment by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission to serve on the Heritage Public Advisory Committee for a three-year term.

Barron Orr was recently informed that he has been selected as a Fulbright scholar grantee to Spain for his sabbatical leave. Congrats, Barron!

NEWLY ELECTED CALS FACULTY MEMBERS:

I'd like to congratulate Phillip Guertin (Natural Resources) as the newly-elected CALS Faculty member to the Faculty Senate. He joins the continuing members Joel Cuello (Ag & Biosystems Engineering), Roger Dahlgran (Ag & Resource Economics), Wanda Howell (Nutritional Sciences), Glenn Songer & Charles Sterling (Veterinary Science & Microbiology), and myself who represent both CALS and Extension at the monthly Faculty Senate meetings. If you have any questions relating to Faculty Senate, contact these people.
